About Breast Augmentation
Breast size, shape, and symmetry can all be improved through breast augmentation surgery, medically known as “augmentation mammaplasty.” Some important facts to know about this procedure include:
- Surgery length – Breast augmentation usually takes one to one-and-a-half hours, and is followed by a two to three hour observation period before the patient is able to return home.
- After surgery – There may be some mild discomfort following surgery. However, Dr. Mariotti’s technique numbs the breasts and chest so that the patient can enjoy a more pain-free experience.
- Recovery – Normal activities may be resumed after the first few days, followed by light activity and return to work between days three and five. More strenuous activities should be avoided for two weeks.
