What types of implants do you offer for breast augmentation?
Dr. Quinn can place both saline and silicone implants. For most patients, this is a matter of preference and will depend on your desired results – how you want your implants to look, how you want them to feel, and so on. Dr. Quinn can further explain the pros and cons of each type of implant and make a recommendation for you at a personal consultation at our Overland Park cosmetic surgery office.
What are my non-surgical options for a younger look?
Quinn Medical Day Spa has an extensive menu of services that includes a wide range of non-surgical, but very effective, treatments. Injectables such as BOTOX® Cosmetic and Restylane® can be used to smooth wrinkling and creasing in facial skin. Our practice also offers a wide variety of skin enhancement options, including IPL photofacial treatment, that can reduce the prominence of age spots and sun damage. Dr. Quinn also offers Thermage® treatment, a revolutionary procedure that uses radiofrequency technology to stimulate collagen in the skin, producing a tighter and smoother look for the face or body.
Can BOTOX® injections smooth the wrinkles on my face?
BOTOX® injections are likely the best option for you if you have frown lines or furrow lines on your brow. If your wrinkles are elsewhere on your face (i.e. below the forehead), it is more likely that Restylane® is the best choice. Restylane® is an injectable filler that can restore lost skin volume to produce a smoother and younger look. To learn whether BOTOX® injections or Restylane® is right for you, please schedule a consultation with our Overland Park cosmetic surgeon.
I have a little extra weight on my tummy – would liposuction or tummy tuck surgery help create a leaner figure?
Liposuction and tummy tuck surgery are two very different procedures. Liposuction should not be used as a method of weight loss, since only about ten pounds of fat can be removed this way. Rather, liposuction is a body contouring treatment designed to target stubborn pockets of fat. These areas might be in the love handles, hips, or abdomen, but liposuction always works best on patients who are already in shape and of a healthy weight.
In contrast, tummy tuck surgery is designed to remove a large deposit of fat or tissue from the abdominal area. This procedure is often the best choice for people who have developed fat in this area due to aging or genetic factors and women who have loose skin due to pregnancy. Tummy tuck surgery can remove a significant amount of fat from the body, and Dr. Quinn can even tighten patients’ abdominal muscles during this procedure to create a more toned and taut appearance.
What procedure do you recommend for tightening loose skin on the face and body?
Thermage® is an excellent treatment option for patients seeking the toned and taut skin of their youth. In many cases, this non-surgical procedure yields immediate results after just one treatment at our office. Thermage® uses radiofrequency technology to stimulate the layers below the surface of the skin and tap into your body’s existing collagen reserves. Thermage® can be used to correct sagging jowls or skin beneath the chin, hooded eyelids, crow’s feet, loose skin on the arms, sagging skin on the tummy, and wrinkles on the hands.
