How to send photos to Dr. Edwards

Home » Doctor Article » How to send photos to Dr. Edwards

If you are traveling to see Dr. Edwards for a consultation it is helpful for you to forward photographs before the appointment. Especially with breast surgery Dr. Edwards will be better able to discuss with you what your possible options are for treatment. It may be that in addition to breast enhancement, you may benefit from a breast lift. Please see “Do I need a breast lift” on the website.

You are welcome to send printed photos by mail to:

Michael C. Edwards, MD, FACS
653 N. Town Center Drive, Suite 214
Las Vegas, Nevada 89144

Digital photos can be sent via e mail to:

[email protected].

Please do not send images from camera phones. These are typically difficult to interpret and are of a lower image quality.

When your photo is formatted as a .jpeg, the file name will have .jpeg or .jpg at the end of the photo name (example: breastphoto.jpg). Do not put your name in the file name for your privacy. Sometimes these show as uppercase letters. Size: 500 KB or less. Compressing or zipping photos is helpful and will allow faster uploading and downloading. It may require that you send images individually in separate e mails.

A uniform background is helpful with as even lighting as best possible. For most photos your face should not be in the photo for your privacy (unless we are discussing something with your facial features). It is best if you have someone take the photos for you and it is very important that the camera be level with the body part being photographed. For the breast the camera should be level with the nipples. This prevents a view that looks like the camera is looking down at you which can distort anatomy.

We need 4 views for breast photos:

From the front with your arms down

From the front with your arms comfortably behind your head

From the right side with your arms down

From the left side with your arms down

Body photos must reflect your muscles in their relaxed state.

Abdominal photos should show area from the mid-breast to pubic bone. Please wear underwear low so existing scars can be seen.

Back photos should show area from the top of the shoulders to the tailbone.

Hip and buttock photos should show area from waist to knee. If possible wear underwear that does not cause indentations or remove them.

Upper thigh photos should show area from mid-hip to just below knees. If possible wear underwear that does not cause indentations or remove them.
