Surgery of the Month
This 38 year old Realtor came to see Dr. Pousti regarding improving her body. She had had 2 children, via cesarean section, and couldn’t lose the excess skin and adipose tissue in the abdominal area. Her stomach muscles had stretched and sit-ups wouldn’t help. Her breasts were sagging and she wanted them more “perky”. She underwent breast augmentation, mastopexy (breast lifting) and abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) surgery 2 months ago. She is extremely happy with her results.
She met with Dr. Pousti several times to go over the procedure in detail. With larger combination procedures, it is best to meet and discuss the potential risks and complications multiple times so that there are no surprises. Dr. Pousti will answer all questions that you may have. The patient’s that chose to perform multiple procedures at the same time do so for a couple of reasons:
- If the patient has to take time off of work or get help at home for the kids, it is easier to do so one time instead of multiple times.
- The cost is less when combining procedures versus performing the procedures individually.
- The patient will undergo anesthesia one time.
The night before surgery, she came into the office for “markings”. This is when Dr. Pousti takes about 30 minutes to an hour drawing on the patient and discussing where the incisions will be and how everything will be moved around. These markings are essential for a smooth surgery.
The morning of surgery, the patient shows up to the surgery center ready to go. She is both excited and nervous (which is normal). She is taken to the operating room and Dr. Pousti performs his magic. Dr. Pousti works with a group in the operating room that he has hand selected so that everyone knows the routine and so that there will be no surprises.
Now at 2 months out, the patient is extremely happy with her results and has allowed us to put her recovery progress on our web site.
I just had to write and tell you all how happy I am with my NEW body.
As you know I had a tummy tuck, breast lift and augmentation done in mid April. I have been a yo-yo dieter all of my adult life. Because of my weight loss, weight gain, weight loss and weight gain (well you get the picture) my body was a wreck! My breasts were VERY droopy and I had lost ALL of my volume. I was a very saggy D. My tummy had the famous pooch that no exercise could get rid of. I dreamed about having a tummy tuck for about 10 years. Over the past few years I knew my breasts would need a little help too¡K. Ok, a lot of help.
This past year I started doing research on tummy tucks, breast lifts and breast augmentations. After I learned everything I needed to know about the procedures I started to look for a Doctor. That was the hardest part, until I met Dr. Pousti. I saw a total of five Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Pousti was the fifth and finally one I saw. After meeting with Dr Pousti and his staff I knew he was going to be the one. He was so kind and very caring. I loved the fact he let you meet other patients that had the same surgeries I wanted. I asked them lots of questions, They all could not say enough about how great Dr. Pousti is and how HAPPY they are with there results. They all looked great! All the office girls were so friendly and always smiling. They made me feel very comfortable. I was so afraid I was going to feel out of place.
I came home very excited and told my Husband I ha
