WHY DID YOU BECOME A PLASTIC SURGEON
I knew I wanted to be in health care as
a child. My uncle, a physician, was my role model. I began in dentistry and
followed into medicine. Plastic surgery
was a natural progression

WHAT’S THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU’VE LEARNED FROM YOUR PATIENTS
Of utmost importance is to listen to what people are saying and develop a mutual understanding. For a patient to be satisfied, realistic expectations must be met

ATTRIBUTES THAT MAKE A DOCTOR SUCCESSFUL
Most physicians are capable of delivering good results. The physician’s ability to listen to his patient and address their issues and concerns will determine the success of their relationship

HOBBIES
Golf takes up a lot of my time when I am not operating. It is a challenging and frustrating sport

A COMPREHENSIVE APPROACH TO PLASTIC SURGERY
“Plastic surgery interests me because of the combination of science and art. It is the art of making subtle changes that allows for the best result. My greatest compliment is when patients tell me that their friends comment that they look rested, not realizing that they have had a procedure. Sometimes patients may not need surgery to get that refreshed look. ADJUNCTIVE
SKIN CARE
may be all that is necessary to begin the process of graceful aging. Today’s technology and pharmaceutical-grade products give me the opportunity to aid in enhancing the quality of environmentally damaged or genetically acquired conditions of the skin. We have established Subtlchanges™ as a separate SKIN
CARE CENTER
to address these non-surgical skin conditions, pre-condition the skin for surgical procedures and maintain post-surgical results. Botox®, soft tissue fillers, skin peels, microdermabrasion, Fotofacial® laser hair reduction and others are among the many available NON-SURGICAL
OPTIONS
for looking as good as you feel. My philosophy is to offer my patients the best of all available options.”

Dr. Rappaport’s Houston Center for Plastic Surgery & Subtlchanges™ provides a warm and comfortable environment for patients to discuss their expectations and concerns about surgery or skin care. “We’re the navigator and the patient is the captain,” explains Dr. Rappaport.

“It is up to the patient to ultimately decide what they might want to enhance. We’re here to work with them. Our goal is to educate and inform and then tailor our treatment recommendations to what would be most appropriate for the patient’s condition and needs.” After nearly 25 years in practice, Dr. Rappaport’s practice remains intentionally broad-based. While today he performs mostly elective cosmetic surgery, he continues to care for reconstructive surgery patients particularly in the areas of the face, breast and hand. Dr. Rappaport continues to participate in academic medicine as Clinical Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine and remains involved in numerous regional, national and international surgery organizations.

The Houston Center for Plastic Surgery and Subtlchanges are conveniently located adjacent to each other. “While both offices are comfortable, Subtlchanges™ feels more like a spa than a medical office. We wanted to create a “quiet space” for patients and clients who desire to receive clinical skin care in a comfortable, calm and relaxing environment. Our relationships with our patients begin with the initial telephone contact. By the time a patient reaches our office, we anticipate that they will have already developed a warm feeling about our staff. When this occurs, the entire process becomes much more educational and informative,” says
Dr. Rappaport.
