Nevada Woman – Profile

Dr. Jeffrey Roth is back in town. A Las Vegas resident since 1977 and a Chaparral High School alumnus, he left to study and garner experience at a number of top medical institutions in the United States. He graduated from Brandeis University, and the University of Nevada School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery residency at the Medical College of Pennsylvania/Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, and his plastic surgery residency at the University of California, San Francisco, serving as chief resident in both programs. He furthered his training with a fellowship in microsurgery and hand surgery at the University of Southern California. He also served as a faculty member at USC/Los Angeles County Hospital.

That said, he’s brought his experience from around the country in an array of procedures to those in his hometown. Speaking with Dr. Roth, one gets the sense that he is interested in the individual, and how a particular procedure may address the goals of the person.

There are individual procedures designed for each unique issue. A popular procedure is a mini tummy tuck. Dr. Roth explains after having a few kids there may be a stretching and separation between the two rectus muscles those known for making the “six pack.” The procedure involves a smaller incision than the standard tummy tuck. The muscles are pulled back together and sewn in place, to create an “internal corset” of sorts.

“ It’s all about understanding a patient’s desired goals and working together to bring them to reality,” says Dr. Roth. “A procedure can change somebody’s life by giving him or her more confidence. I’ve found that most people who come in for plastic surgery have already invested in themselves – by exercising for example. So taking the next step of an enhancing procedure almost seems natural.”
He notes that the best outcomes start with a thorough history and physical examination. A thoughtful and thorough consultation of the patient’s goals in relation to what is surgically possible and appropriate follows. Making decisions together affords the best opportunity to achieve the desired results.

Dr. Roth is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery and by the National Board of Medical Examiners.

He has published numerous articles, chapters, and books on a wide range of surgical subjects. He was a National Institute of Health, (NIH), research fellow, and has won national awards, and honors. These include: The “Golden Stethoscope” Award for teaching, (twice). Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who in America, and Who’s Who in Medicine and Health Care. He feels that the people of the state of Nevada supported his educational process, and so it is time to return and show his appreciation.

Dr. Roth is available for consultation in a full spectrum of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Cosmetic procedures.
