Dr. Laurie Casas tells Health Day her opinion on the recent increase in non-surgical procedures among the baby boomer generation. Time, she says, is a major constraint. They “don’t have the time for major surgical procedures [requiring more recovery time]. They would probably opt for them if they had the time.” Dr. Casas also stresses the patient’s own role in his or her “cosmetic” medicine. Dr. Casas champions skin care and proper diet and nutrition.
“I don’t believe cosmetic surgery should be a moment in time….It should be tied in with a healthy lifestyle.”
