Dr. William H. Frazier is a distinguished graduate of Yale University School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in general surgery, followed by a residency in plastic surgery, all at Yale-New Haven Hospital, New Haven, Connecticut. He is certified by both the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
Yale University Medical School Faculty
Dr. Frazier was elected to membership in Sigma Xi, the National Science Honor Society, and Alpha Omega Alpha, the National Medical Honor Society. Appointments to both societies are limited to those in the top 10 percent of their class. Dr. Frazier joined the faculty of the Yale University School of Medicine as an Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery, rising to Associate Professor in 1978, and also served as the acting Chief of the Section of Plastic Surgery. He served as the Medical Director of the Yale-New Haven Hospital (YNHH) Emergency Department, the YNHH Burn Service, the Yale Trauma Program, and as Medical Director of the South Central Connecticut Emergency Medical Services System. He had a dual appointment to the Yale University School of Organization and Management, and was the Principal Investigator for federally funded projects to assess and measure prehospital and emergency department quality of care, and the prevalence and presentation of domestic violence in the emergency care setting.
Private Practice and Peer Review
Moving to Florida in 1982, Dr. Frazier began private practice in his specialty: cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery. He was licensed in Florida as a Health Care Risk Manager in 2004. Today he is a medical advisor to Pro National, a major malpractice insurance company and is an appointed medical advisor to the Florida Dept. of Health. He does peer review, legislative and malpractice-case evaluation, and has served as an expert witness in malpractice defense and patient-safety cases. Dr. Frazier has lived and traveled extensively throughout the world, and is active in his church and mission work.
