Tom Crais, MD, FACS

Tom Crais, M.D. F.A.C.S., specializes in aesthetic plastic surgery. Dr. Crais completed a five-year General Surgery residency at Boston University Medical Center, as well as a two-year additional residency in Plastic Surgery and a six-month Microsurgery fellowship at New York University under Dr. William Shaw. During his Plastic Surgery residency and Microsurgery fellowship, Dr. Crais served as a Clinical Instructor in Surgery (Plastic Surgery) at New York University. He has been a Diplomate of the American Board of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons since 1982, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Crais also served as President of the Louisiana Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, was a faculty member at Louisiana State University Medical Center, and founder and Medical Director of the Microsurgical Research and Training Laboratory at Southern Baptist Hospital in New Orleans. Dr. Crais is honored to have received the Physician’s Recognition Award of the American Medical Association on several occasions. He is honored to have been listed as one of America’s Top Surgeons by the Consumer’s Research Council, and received the first ever Ronald McDonald Spirit of Love Award in New Orleans.
