Testi "I had my consult with Dr. Ronan yesterday. I know a lot of women would frown at me, but I was so impressed with him and his staff that I set my surgery date without checking out other surgeons. In fact, they all actually encouraged me to see other surgeons before choosing, but I just know that this is my team. For any other newbies who want to know what a consultation is like, I'll describe mine below. I hope this helps somebody.

When I walked in I was greeted by Tami, who is an absolute sweetie. She gave me some forms to fill out and I was so nervous that I just sat and filled them in without looking around. When I finally looked at the room it was beautiful - It didn't look like any doctor's office I've ever been in before. Everything is in beige tones or off-white, it's very modern and stylish. It felt more like a ritzy living room than a doctor's office. He has pictures of his office on his website if anyone is interested. Tami took me into the consultation room and I met Troi, the patient coordinator. She told me about her background as a surgeon consultant (very impressive) and gave me background on Dr. Ronan.

We talked about why I wanted surgery and talked about my history. Then Dr. Ronan came in. For a surgeon who has done as much as he has, I was surprised by how young he is. We spoke for a long time - he was very thorough about the risks and all the options. I was impressed that he and Troi both told me to talk to several surgeons before making up my mind. He left the room for a few minutes and I undressed and was given a black, cotton robe to put on. He came back in and after examining me and looking through lots of photos, we decided I should go with a transaxillary incision with Inamed round, smooth regulars with 330-360 cc's of saline (I'm a 34 AA right now and want to be a C)."

I apologize if I can't recall everyone's name but I just wanted to thank you all again for the wonderful and amazing job on my procedure (breast augmentation). I didn't expect them to turn out this great and I'm so incredibly happy with the results. I'm almost a month post-op and feeling great. I wanted to thank Dr. Ronan for doing an amazing job and for your great advice and comfort in this procedure because I won't deny it, I was nervous. And my anesthesiologist, my god he was wonderful, so wonderful that I can't recall his name because I was a little loopy and giggling a lot at that time.

I'm sure there were others in the room that I can't recall either and I wanted them all to know that I appreciate everything they have done. I woke up from the procedure not feeling any pain whatsoever, no nausea, just a little drunk feeling and I was in shock that anything had been done so I had to look and make sure and Whoa! Yep they're there! I was able to move about the same day and but as the doctor said, no matter how good you feel, to take it easy so I had to force myself to relax, veg out and catch up on my t.v shows. I was already shopping by Day 3…some light shopping of course and it was an amazing feeling not to have to wear a miracle bra or any bra for that matter and still feel confident in myself.

I still didn't experience any pain, only some discomfort getting out of bed because you just don't realize how many chest muscles you use trying to sit up but overall that, the breast massage and removing the catheter on the pain pump were the only slightly discomforting incidences of the whole experience and what a relief that was. I had read up on many stories of women waking up feeling like they had been hit by a mack truck but as I say "expect the worse and hope for the best” well I felt a million times better than I ever would have expected and that is NO exaggeration. The pain pump was my best friend!!

One of my fears was that I would actually be able to feel them as a foreign object but that's not the case, I don't feel them at all and they feel so natural!! I ended up going from a very very small A to a large C/small D and was still able to fit in most of my shirts but they were just so much more flattering and my bathing suits, WOW, they looked great and can't wait for summer to get here! I showed many of my friends and they were shocked about how great they look and now a few of them are wanting to get them done too. My boyfriend wasn't too excited at first about the whole idea because "he loves me for me”, what a good boyfriend! But this was something I had wanted for 10 years, not for anyone else, it was for me. But he thinks they turned out great as well.

I definitely shouldn't have waited 10 years. Thank you all again for your wonderful care, comforting advice and just for everything you have done for me!! It's amazing how much confidence I have now and the breast augmentation has actually improved my posture, when you would think it would have the reverse effect…I think it's because of the confidence! Dr. Ronan, you are definitely an amazing and gifted surgeon and I'm so glad I didn't go anywhere else.

If you ever have requests of patients that would like to talk with any of your post-operative patients, feel free to give them my information and I'd be happy to speak with them. You don't need to keep me anonymous. Sorry for such a long novel!!"

It’s been almost 6 months since my surgery and I feel bad that it has taken me so long to send you this 'thank you.' Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is the first word that comes to mind and then . . . Unbelievable! I can't begin to tell you how everyday is better and I’m about as confident as I can be. We bought a ski boat and I must be the oldest lady out there wakeboarding. Qualifications

Dr. Ronan was born at the Presidio in San Francisco. He was raised in Petaluma where he attended St. Vincent Grammar and High School. He graduated St. Vincent H.S. with more than 20 awards and scholarships. He participated in sports year round (football, basketball, baseball and tennis) throughout these years and we chosen for multiple All-Star teams, MVP awards, etc.

Dr. Ronan''s majored in Physiology at the University of California, as Davis. At Davis, he juggled a research (on alligators!!), work (ambulance driver), and a busy fraternity social schedule. Dr. Ronan received a Letter of Commendation from Governor Pete Wilson for field work as an EMT. Next, Dr. Ronan graduated from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, VA. It was in Richmond that he met and married his wonderful wife, Leslie. Dr. Ronan continued his training (residency and fellowship) in general and then plastic surgery at the Medical College of Virginia. During his residency and fellowship, Dr. Ronan was chosen as the Chief Surgical House Officer at Columbia Hospitals (Chippenham, Johnston-Willis and John Randolph) for multiple years. Before returning to California, Dr. Ronan had a son, Jack. His daughter, Charlotte was born after he returned to the Bay Area.

Dr. Ronan has medical licenses in both California and Virginia. Dr. Ronan performs most of is surgery at the Blackhawk Surgery Center. This is an accredited surgery center (Medicare and AAAASF) and he uses a Board Certified Anesthesiologist. Dr. Ronan served as Chief of Plastic Surgery at the San Joaquin General Hospital where he taught residents the art and science of reconstructive plastic surgery.

Dr. Ronan is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He scored in the 99th percentile during the 2002 Plastic Surgery In-service Exam. He received the prestigious S. Dawson Theogaraj in 2000 for excellence in plastic surgery scholarship. He is a life member of the Heritage Society of the Medical College of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University. He is also a life member of the Maliniac Circle (Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation). Dr. Ronan is a member of multiple committees of the American Society of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Ronan is a member of numerous, prestigious medical organizations.

With Operation Kids (Richmond, VA), Dr. Ronan has had the privilege of participating in multiple foreign missions to repair cleft lips, palates, burns, and other congenital deformities of children in Guatemala. Dr. Ronan is also a member of Rotary International and Rotoplast, another organization that focuses on providing plastic surgery to children in third world countries.
