Sheldon M. Lincenberg, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Trained in plastic surgery at the prestigious, internationally recognized Mayo Clinic, Dr. Sheldon M. Lincenberg is double board-certified : he is a board-certified plastic surgeon and a board-certified general surgeon.

In practice for 16 years, Dr. Lincenberg founded Georgia Plastic Surgery, P.C., in Atlanta in 1989. He has performed plastic surgery since 1987. Dr. Lincenberg founded Georgia Plastic Surgery, P.C., in 1989. He is also a Board Certified General Surgeon.

As reported in Atlanta Magazine's "Top Doctors", Dr. Lincenberg was named a "Doctor's Doctor" for Plastic Surgery - one of the medical professionals in Atlanta held in highest regard by their colleagues. The study, conducted by the Washington, DC-based Center for the Study of Services, a non-profit consumer research organization, surveys Atlanta doctors and asks them what physicians they would recommend to a loved one."

Dr. Lincenberg was also one of five plastic surgeons named in a FOX-5 News Special Project ("Atlanta's Best Doctors") designed to "help you choose the best doctor for yourself or your family." Dr. Lincenberg received his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine. He completed his plastic surgery residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and served general surgery residencies at Sinai Hospital in Detroit and University of Illinois hospitals. His community service efforts have been recognized through the WXIA-TV 11 Alive Community Service Awards in 2003 and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery's Community Service and Volunteerism award.

Humanitarian and Community Service

Kidejapa Surgical Missions - Since 1999, he has organized and led annual surgical missions to Ecuador to correct birth defects and other reconstructive surgery needs of children. The surgical teams operate on more than 100 children each year.

Pink Ribbons - Dr. Lincenberg also created an annual event in 1995 to benefit breast cancer. Known as Pink Ribbons and co-sponsored by Parisan, the event is a luncheon/fashion show at the Ritz-Carlton Buckhead benefiting the Georgia Breast Cancer Coalition Fund. In its 10-year history, Pink Ribbons has raised nearly a half-million dollars for breast cancer.

"This year, 4,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed among women in Georgia. Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women, excluding skin cancers. It is the leading cause of cancer death among women aged 40 to 55, and it is the second leading cause of cancer death for women of all ages, exceeded only by lung cancer," Dr. Lincenberg said. "Pink Ribbons is one way to help make a difference in the fight against breast cancer," he added.
