Dr. Ram Kalus and Plastic Surgery of the Carolinas, having been in practice for over 15 years, it has been my mission to try and achieve natural appearing results for my patients. If, for example, you see a woman at the health club or on the beach who looks as though she has had a breast augmentation, that would be considered a less than optimal result, according to my strict criteria. Too often these days women are being over-augmented, resulting in a fairly typical operated look that may not be very flattering or complimentary to that patient, and certainly would not qualify as "natural" appearing.

We realize that you are unique and your plastic surgery results should mirror your individuality. Dr. Ram Kalus will create a natural look that will not be easily recognizable as the product of plastic surgery. He is a fervent believer in enhancing your natural form, not exaggerating it. Qualifications

Education

Dr. Ram Kalus earned board certification with the American Board of Plastic Surgery in 1992 after completing his medical degree and B.A. in Psychology cum laude from Boston University. Before setting up practice as a plastic surgeon in Columbia, South Carolina, Dr. Kalus completed several plastic surgery residencies at such prestigious locations as Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Dartmouth, New Hampshire, the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts, and the Hospital for Sick Children in Paris, France.


Society Memberships and Recognition

In order to better serve patients across North and South Carolina, plastic surgeon Dr. Ram Kalus holds memberships in various professional societies. Currently a member of the South Carolina Society of Plastic Surgeons, Dr. Kalus also served as the organization’s president from 2003 to 2004. He is also an active member of both the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Ram Kalus is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). This designation indicates that Dr. Kalus has had his surgical performance and academic credentials reviewed by his peer plastic surgeons and is competent to perform surgery. It also indicates that Dr. Kalus has pledged to put the needs of his patients above his own.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) also recognizes Dr. Ram Kalus as pediatric specialist with a commitment to lifelong learning and advocacy for children. Many children and adolescents from North and South Carolina have been treated by Dr. Kalus as their pediatric plastic surgeon. At his office in Columbia, Dr. Kalus is available for pediatric and adolescent plastic surgery consultations.
