Testi "After being in an auto accident which caused injuries to my nose, I decided to consult with Dr. Storm at Premier Plastic Surgery. He had repaired my carpel tunnel in a previous surgery, so I was confident in his abilities.

Following my first appointment I knew I was in good hands. From the moment I walked in the door, the staff has been outstanding, courteous, knowledgeable, patient and kind. By the second appointment they knew me by name.

Needless to say, the first surgery on my nose was a complete success. During the consultation for my second surgery, I decided to ask questions about possible plastic surgery on other parts of my body which had seen better days. Being middle aged and after three children, two c-sections, cancer and a radical hysterectomy my mid section had taken a toll. My neck area and face were also starting to show signs of age and Dr. Storm helped me realize there was help available.

Qualifications

Dr. John B. Moore IV

Dr. John B. Moore IV is a third generation surgeon. His father and grandfather were general surgeons in Southern Illinois where he grew up. His grandfather was the first board certified general surgeon south of Chicago and built the first hospital in his home town of Benton, Illinois before sending his two brothers off to medical school. On his mother's side, Dr. Moore's great, great aunt was one of the first women to specialize in gynecologic surgery and "Women's Medicine". Dr. Moore's family background gave him an early and thorough exposure to medicine. High school valedictorian, college at DePauw University in Indiana with highest honors, medical school and residency at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine led to his early career as Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery and Chief of Hand Surgery at the University of Kansas Hospital School of Medicine. Professorships in Indiana and Virginia were followed by the startup of his own private practice in Olathe over 22 years ago. Dr. Moore wanted to merge the small town family doctor personalized care philosophy he had grown up around with the technical and innovative excellence he had practiced at the various medical centers. This combination of personalized care and surgical expertise led to such a success that Dr. Moore invited Drs. Storm, Mani, and Gonzalez to join his practice over the last 15 years. Together they have built one of the most successful plastic surgery group practices in the area.

Dr. Moore's wife, Dr. Surprenant, is a local and national expert on identification and prevention of child abuse and domestic violence and both of his children are pursuing careers in the medical field. Dr. Moore has a shared interest with Dr. Storm in mountain biking and is an avid hiker and scuba diver.

Dr. Brad Storm

Dr. Storm grew up in Central Illinois, the son of "The Greatest Generation" parents of the depression era. His father, James, was a veteran of 35 missions in WW II as a tail gunner in a B-17 bomber. The importance of integrity and the value of hard work and treating people as you would expect to be treated were daily lessons. He graduated high school at the top of his class and the president of the National Honor Society. He entered the University of Illinois as a James Scholar. He graduated cum laude with honors in general biology for his research thesis. He entered Southern Illinois University School of Medicine where he did microsurgical research in addition to earning his MD degree. He subsequently completed a general surgery residency and achieved Board Certification in General Surgery.

After finishing general surgery, he began his plastic surgery residency at Southern Illinois University, finishing with board scores placing him in the top two percent of all finishing residents. Board certification in plastic surgery and hand surgery followed. After completion of plastic surgery in 1990, he joined Dr. Moore in practice where he has a very busy clinical practice and is a speaker and instructor on a national level. He has been the vice president/president of the Plastic Surgery Society of Kansas City. His practice is widely varied from hand and microsurgery to cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. He enjoys the variety possible in plastic surgery practice and works hard to stay up to date on the latest techniques.

If he had one area of particular expertise it would be cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the breast and body. His extensive experience with breast reconstruction has paid dividends in his results of his cosmetic surgeries of the breast and body. He is one of fifty plastic surgeons in the United States granted entry into the FDA trial of the Allergan 410 cohesive gel implant.

Dr. Storm and his wife of over twenty years, Jackie, a critical care nurse, have three children. Dr. Storm enjoys outdoor activities, particularly running and road and mountain bike riding and racing. He is a duathlete and an instrument-rated pilot.

Dr. Federico Gonzalez

Federico Gonzalez grew up in a small community outside of Boston. His single-parent mother raised 5 sons, all of whom went on to college. In his youth, Dr. Gonzalez played college basketball and earned a black belt in tae kwon do. Dr. Gonzalez worked in a research laboratory at Harvard Medical School during the day and attended college classes at night before being accepted to medical school. While a student at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, he was honored with the Lange Student Book Award and a Kaiser Scholarship.

Dr. Gonzalez trained in general surgery at LSU Medical Center before returning to University of Massachusetts Medical for plastic surgery residency training. He then completed fellowships in microsurgery, hand surgery, and aesthetic surgery before being appointed Assistant Professor at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. In 1993 Dr. Gonzalez moved to Kansas City to assume the directorship of the UMKC Plastic Surgery Program and subsequently served as an Associate Professor at KU Medical Center. During his academic career, Dr. Gonzalez has shared authorship in more than 50 book chapters, scientific articles, and presentations.

Over the last 11 years, Dr. Gonzalez has melded his academic background with the desire to give patients the highest quality care and personal attention in a private practice setting. Drs. Moore, Storm and Gonzalez at Premier Plastic Surgery, with their excellent and friendly staff, strive to provide each patient with a care plan incorporating the patient's wishes and desires, up-to-date medical knowledge, and their extensive experience to gain optimal results.

Over the last 20 years, Dr. Gonzalez has traveled to Central America on over 15 mission trips performing cleft lip repairs and other surgery for indigent patients. He and his wife of 26 years have raised 4 daughters. His leisure activities include reading, scuba diving, bicycling and playing tennis.
