Martin Fox, M.D.

Dr. Martin Fox has been in practice for over twenty years and is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), which is the nation's most prestigious organization of board certified plastic surgeons specializing in cosmetic surgery. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS).

Originally from New York, Dr. Fox earned his medical degree at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He completed both his general surgery and plastic surgery residencies at the Albert Einstein Hospitals in New York. He also completed an additional fellowship in hand surgery at the University of Louisville. Dr. Fox was also board certified by the American Board of Surgery and obtained the Certificate of Added Qualifications in Hand Surgery.

Dr. Fox is also a member of the Ohio Valley Society of Plastic Surgeons, Kentucky Society of Plastic Surgeons, American Society for Surgery of the Hand, American Association for Hand Surgery, Kentucky Medical Association and Jefferson County Medical Society.

Dr. Fox is a published author on numerous medical topics and shares his expertise as an assistant clinical instructor in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. During his years in practice, Dr. Fox has been called on by the media many times to comment as an expert on cosmetic procedures.

Geoffrey Durham-Smith, M.D

Dr. Durham-Smith began his medical career in Australia after earning his medical degree from the University of Melbourne in Victoria, Australia in 1974. He served several residencies around the world before being certified by the Australian Board of Plastic Surgery and receiving Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in England (FRCS). In 1983 he became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS).

In 1990, Dr. Durham-Smith moved to his wife's home town of Louisville, Kentucky and joined Louisville's Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery Specialists in 1991. Dr. Durham-Smith has extensive training and experience in cosmetic plastic surgery. His other areas of expertise include reconstructive plastic surgery and hand surgery.

Dr. Durham-Smith is a past president of the Kentucky Society of Plastic Surgeons. He is also a member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons, Kentucky Society of Plastic Surgeons and Jefferson County Medical Society. He is a published contributor to various medical journals and has presented his reports at medical meetings.

In working with patients, Dr. Durham-Smith utilizes his extensive world-wide training in plastic surgery to meet each patient's objectives for aesthetic enhancements.

John W. Derr Jr., M.D.

Before becoming one of Louisville's finest plastic surgeons, Dr. John Derr received his BA from Ohio Wesleyan University, attended Duke University to study anatomy, and received his M.D. from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He completed residencies in General Surgery and Plastic Surgery at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan.

His post-graduate work included a fellowship in microsurgery at the University of Louisville, Division of Plastic Surgery, Department of Surgery; and a cosmetic surgery fellowship with Drs. Baker, Gordon, and Stuzin in Miami, Florida.

Dr. Derr joined the full-time faculty at the University of Louisville School of Medicine as an Assistant Professor in Surgery (Plastic) in 1990 and continued until he chose to become a private plastic surgeon in Louisville in 1995. He continues to hold the position of Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of Louisville, where he participates in the education of residents in the plastic surgery program.

Dr. Derr is also renowned for laser surgery (facial resurfacing, spider vein treatment, and tattoo removal) and skin care (Obagi' and Glytone', BOTOX' Cosmetic and dermal fillers (fat injections, Radiesse' and Restylane').

Maurine Waterhouse, M.D.

Dr. Maurine Waterhouse was Louisville's first female plastic surgeon and joined Louisville's Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery Specialists in 1993. Dr. Waterhouse is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and American Board of Surgery. She is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS).

Originally from Palo Alto, California, Dr. Waterhouse completed her undergraduate degree at Stanford University before earning her medical degree from the University of Missouri. While at the University of Missouri, Dr. Waterhouse was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and received both the Outstanding General Surgery Student Award and American Medical Women's Association Student Award.

Dr. Waterhouse completed her surgical residency at the prestigious University of North Carolina Hospital in Chapel Hill. She received her plastic surgery training at the University of Kansas Medical Center and was chief resident of plastic surgery at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. She has extensive expertise in plastic surgery and is also a member of the Kentucky Society of Plastic Surgeons and Jefferson County Medical Society.
