Testi "All my life I've struggled with being overweight. I grew up with the mentality that you were only beautiful if you were thin, so being compared to my gorgeous, skinny sister, being beautiful myself never seemed like an option for me. At the beginning of 2011 coming out of an abusive relationship, I decided that I wouldn't allow myself to continue to feel the way I did about myself. I started dieting like crazy and taking Zumba classes, but after losing 25 pounds my body got stubborn and the scale wouldn't budge anymore.

That's when I met Dr. Bivens. He introduced me to liposuction surgery and even though I was skeptical at first, it gave me hope. Dr. Bivens really made me feel comfortable throughout the whole process and made me realize that the surgery wouldn't be a way out, but a helping hand to keep going with my weight loss. After I had the surgery, I gradually lost 11 more pounds the next two weeks, and it wasn't until then that I started to feel a boost of confidence I never had.

I started working out at the gym at least 4 days a week, keeping an everyday strict diet and the weight just kept coming off. Dr. Jeffry B. Schafer, MD, FRSM

Jeffry B. Schafer, MD, FRSM is a fully trained Cosmetic & Reconstructive Surgeon and has been in practice since 1978. Along with his 25 years of experience in cosmetic surgery, he has 15 years of liposculpture experience. Dr. Schafer was a former staff physician with Scripps Clinic and Research Institute in La Jolla. He was a clinical instructor at The University of Alabama School of Medicine. Dr. Schafer taught at the University of California at San Diego.

Dr. Jeffry B.Schafer has been called the Father of Modern Laser Liposuction. As a Cynosure Center of Excellence his office has mentored over 100 Physicians and twenty nurse trainers in the beginning of laser lypolysis. He developed the method of Superficial Skin Tightening and the concept of measuring skin temperature for safe and accurate results. He was instrumental in the development of the technology for Slim Lipo by Palomar and contributed to their teaching guidelines and evaluations as one of their Centers of Excellence.

He was the first physician in the US to purchase the Body Jet Liposuction system and was showcased on The Doctors with this new technology.
