Neil A. deLeeuw, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. deLeeuw was educated at the University of Santa Clara in California in the pre-med program. After three years, he transferred to Baylor College of Medicine, where he received his M.D. in 1964 as the second youngest in the class. He completed his internship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, and a three-year residency in general surgery. Dr. deLeeuw then pursued a three-year residency in plastic surgery at University Medical School. While maintaining a plastic and reconstructive surgery practice in Wilmington, Dr. deLeeuw has worked with the indigent program in the clinic at the Medical Center of Delaware, operating on patients even though they were unable to pay.

Dr. deLeeuw has retained active membership in the following medical associations: American Medical Association, Delaware Academy of Medicine, Medical Society of Delaware, New Castle County Medical Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, Lipoplasty Society of North America, and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

Over the years, Dr. deLeeuw has actively participated in the teaching program for the surgical residents of the Medical Center of Delaware. He has also been called upon as a presenter for various medical groups, such as the nursing program of the University of Delaware, as well as other professional and civic groups in the area.
