Qualifications

Meet Dr. M. Dean Vistnes

Recognized as an expert in his field, Stanford trained Dr. M. Dean Vistnes is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgeons. He is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the California Society of Plastic Surgeons, and is a member of the prestigious American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the A4M – The American Academy for Anti-Aging Medicine and a highly respected plastic surgeon in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Dr. Vistnes completed his pre-medical undergraduate degree with honors from the University of California at Davis, graduating on the Dean's List in 1981. He received his medical training at Stanford University School of Medicine, graduating in 1987. He then applied to, and was accepted, at Stanford University's Plastic Surgery Training Program, one of the most competitive plastic surgery training programs in the country. After six years of training, he completed both his general surgery and plastic surgery residencies at Stanford in 1993. Appointed to a coveted fellowship, Dr. Vistnes did an additional full year of training in cosmetic surgery and breast surgery in Nashville, TN at the Institute for Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Dr. Vistnes is currently in full-time private practice in Palo Alto, California with a practice devoted to aesthetic surgery.
