We, at Leslie Kerluke M.D., Inc. welcome you to explore your alternatives. Many individuals in North Vancouver, BC and surrounding cities such as Vancouver have taken advantage of our services. As a cosmetic/plastic surgery practice specializing in you and your concerns in North Vancouver, our goal is to provide quality services to every individual that selects our practice.

Our goal is to provide the highest standard of quality and professional surgical care available in the field of plastic surgery. We consider every surgical procedure to be important, with quality patient care to be paramount.

All surgery is performed by Dr. Kerluke in our expertly-staffed private surgical facility. Our surgical facility is fully accredited by the B.C. College of Physicians & Surgeons.

All procedures performed at our Centre are supported by the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons and The Canadian Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Kerluke and his staff regularly attend training courses and symposia to keep abreast of the newest trends and developments. Dr. Kerluke also teaches other surgeons the surgical techniques he uses. Most surgery is performed on an out-patient basis, but for longer surgery sometimes an overnight stay is recommended by Dr. Kerluke.

You will receive comprehensive written instructions to answer commonly asked questions prior to your surgery. Our staff will provide you with full assistance. The choice of general or local anesthesia is made in consultation with Dr. Kerluke. The type of anesthesia used is determined by both procedure and by your preference. Immediately following your surgery, you will stay in our recovery room with nursing care until you are ready to go home.

When you choose a plastic surgeon you are choosing the staff as well. Since every member of our team is an important part of your experience, we offer you this introduction to each of us.

Ashlee Muirhead, MOA Receptionist/MOA. Ashlee has been a part of our team since 2006. Ashlee graduated from the Medical Office Assistance program at Capilano College in 2001. She has become a vital part of our team and can tackle any task at hand. Patients love her caring, sweet demeanor and feel confident in allowing her to help them with their surgical and scheduling needs. Her philosophy is to always be there for the patient. Let her know how she can help you.

Kristy Jones, RN, BSN Nurse/Patient Care Coordinator. Kristy is our nurse and Patient Care Coordinator. She graduated from UBC in 1994 and has had many years experience with cosmetic and surgical patients inside the hospital and clinic setting. Her experience in these areas makes her an excellent resource for patients. She is also our skin care expert and can offer you guidance about your skin care needs. Kristy is a warm and caring individual and invites people to ask her any questions or address any concerns that they may have.

Rosanna "Rosie" Babcock, MOA Receptionist/MOA. Rosie is an integral member of the office team. She has many years of experience in medical and surgical patient care. Her genuine warmth and caring attitude make all of our patients feel special and welcome. Rosie will always try to accommodate your needs and scheduling challenges to make the office interaction as pleasant as possible. Her energetic, outgoing and truly professional demeanor is an asset to our team.

Penny Kerluke Office Administrator. Penny has worked in the medical field as a bookkeeper/administrator since graduating from the MOA program at Capilano College in 1981. Penny works part-time in the office while still juggling a busy family schedule. Penny's philosophy for the office focuses on ensuring an excellent patient experience every time.

Qualifications

Leslie D. Kerluke, M.D., F.R.C.S.(C.) has specialized in Cosmetic & Plastic Surgery since 1992.

After attending Simon Fraser University where he received his BSc (Honors), he graduated from the University of BC School of Vancouver Plastic / Cosmetic Surgeon - Leslie D. Kerluke, M.D., North, BC Medicine.

Dr. Kerluke completed his Plastic Surgery training at the University of Toronto, training under many of North America's top Plastic Surgeons.

Dr. Kerluke was actively involved in research projects in plastic surgery at the University of Toronto, including breast implant reconstruction, wound healing and aesthetic plastic surgery results and patient satisfaction. During his residency, Dr. Kerluke, spent six months as the surgeon to the University of Toronto Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Clinic.

Upon completing his Plastic Surgery residency in 1992, Dr. Kerluke completed a further year of fellowship training with six months at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto and six months at Vancouver General Hospital in Vancouver.

In 1993, Dr. Kerluke entered private practice. He is a Plastic Surgeon on staff at Lions Gate Hospital with an office in North Vancouver. He also has consulting privileges at several other lower mainland hospitals.

Dr. Kerluke specializes in Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery. In 1999, he founded Valley Cosmetic Surgery Associates in partnership with two other Plastic Surgeons and an Anesthesiologist. Valley Cosmetic Surgery Centre provides exemplary, leading edge technology and patient focused care in Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery for the lower mainland.

Dr. Kerluke's primary interests are cosmetic surgical procedures including:

-- body contouring surgery - abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) and liposuction
-- cosmetic breast surgery - breast augmentation and breast lift
-- facial rejuvenation - facelift, browlift, laser resurfacing and eyelid lift

He also has a special interest in endoscopically assisted techniques for facial, breast and body contouring. Dr. Kerluke also maintains a keen interest in non-surgical options for skin health maintenance and age management.

Dr. Kerluke is Royal College Certified in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and an active member of many notable organizations and societies.

Dr. Kerluke is a native of Vancouver and now lives in North Vancouver.

Dr. Kerluke has been married for over 20 years and has 3 wonderful children. He enjoys his time away from work with his family and participates in many West Coast-type activities, including squash, golf, boating and skiing and snowboarding. He particularly enjoys these activities with his wife and children.
