Dr. Heistein grew up in New Jersey, and attended the University of Vermont to earn his undergraduate degree. After finishing at the top of his class at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey - Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, he then continued on to complete his combined general and plastic surgery residency at the Ohio State University.

He has developed a plastic surgery practice to combine state-of-the-art surgical techniques with impeccable judgment and an artist's eye. He specializes in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the breast, body, and face. He has focused his attention on minimally invasive techniques, so that his patients have smaller scars, less pain, swelling and bruising.
