Qualifications

Dr. John Silverton exemplifies the fusion of artistry and medical expertise that defines a top plastic surgeon. A skilled visual artist, Dr. Silverton has been trained, educated, and employed at some of the world's finest medical institutions. Dr. Silverton's artistic ability is displayed in his oil paintings as well as in the breathtaking surgical results he consistently achieves.

Dr. Silverton is a native of England, where he attended Eton College and St. Bartholomew's Hospital Medical College. He trained as a plastic surgeon at the acclaimed Canniesburn Hospital in Glasgow, Scotland, before relocating to the United States in 1975 to train at Emory University. Since that time, Dr. Silverton served as an assistant professor in the department of plastic surgery at UC Davis. He opened his private practice in Stockton in 1979. He became chief of surgery at Dameron Hospital for six years. Dr. Silverton has authored numerous publications, including scientific papers and a plastic surgery textbook.

Dr. John Silverton is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the California Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the San Joaquin County Medical Society. He is also a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He is licensed by both the state of California and the United Kingdom's General Medical Council, and is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
