Qualifications

Jamie Robert Wisser, M.D., F.A.C.S. is the founder of the Princeton Rejuvenation Institute, LLC and is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Inc. Dr. Wisser has completed two residencies, one in General Surgery at Boston University and one in Plastic Surgery at the Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine in New Jersey. He has also completed three separate fellowships, two in transplantation and tissue engineering at Massachusetts General Hospital and Boston Children's Hospital, respectively, and one in Orthopaedic Surgery of the Hand and Upper Limb as an Emanual B. Kaplan Fellow at NYU/Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York City. Dr. Wisser is quoted as telling people who inquire about his training: "I trained for twenty years beyond graduating from High School before going into practice." From authoring articles in peer review journal publications and chapters in surgical textbooks, to his ongoing Clinical Assistant Professorship at the NYU School of Medicine, Dr. Wisser strives to maintain a level of excellence and updated approach to clinical practice within the various subspecialty areas of expertise he provides within his private practice, Princeton Surgical Specialties, PA.

Dr. Wisser believes that learning the craft of surgical practice "is really an apprenticeship." Dr. Wisser has benefited from training and learning from some of the most renowned experts in various fields. His cosmetic surgical mentor was Lenora Barot, MD, who was trained at the University of Pennsylvania by Peter Randall, MD and Don LaRossa, MD. Dr. Wisser's maxillofacial and craniofacial mentors were several, including Arthur Brown, MD who also trained at the University of Pennsylvania as well as Scott Bartlett, MD and Linton Whitaker, MD at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Dr. Wisser's expertise in Surgery of the Hand and Microvascular Surgery stems from both Plastic Surgical as well as Orthopaedic Surgical mentors. Plastic Surgical mentors have included Martha Matthews, MD, who trained in Norfolk under John McGraw, MD and James Carraway, MD, James W. May, Jr., MD at Massachusetts General Hospital, and Lester Silver, MD at Mount Sinai Hospital. Dr. Wisser's Orthopaedic mentors have been numerous, but he specifically attributes his expertise in the fields of Hand and Upper Limb, Microvascular and Pediatric Reconstructive Surgery to Martin Posner, MD at NYU/Hospital for Joint Diseases, who trained with Joseph Boyes, MD in San Francisco, Dr. Pulvertaft in England as well as Emanual B. Kaplan, MD, himself, and Steven Green, MD, who trained at the Philadelphia Hand Center with James Hunter, MD and Lawrence Schneider, MD. Dr. Wisser's Trauma Surgical mentor was the late Erwin Hisch, MD, Chief of Surgery at Boston City Hospital. His Breast and Endocrine Surgical Oncological mentors were Robert Beasley, MD and Peter Mozden, MD, founder of the first Surgical Oncology Division in the United States at Boston University Hospital. This legacy, breadth of knowledge and experience has enabled Dr. Wisser to practice as an expert in a number subspecialty fields of Plastic and Orthopaedic Surgery. He maintains a personal challenge of honoring his mentors by maintaining the highest standards of practice and ongoing learning in his day-to-day clinical activities.

The variety of specialized treatments available at Princeton Surgical Specialties, PA include a wide range of cosmetic and reconstructive procedures that have attracted patients from across the country and around the world who seek the expert care and attention to detail that Dr. Wisser provides. Whether they are as extensive as post-bariatric or gastric banding obesity reduction body contouring operations or as small and refined as reconstructing anomalous pediatric hands, Dr. Wisser applies a similar detail-oriented, meticulous approach to operative planning, patient education, and surgical performance that patients greatly appreciate.

Having conducted research in the clinical applications of lasers in Plastic and Orthopedic Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital and NYU/Hospital for Joint Diseases, Dr. Wisser has years of experience in the clinical application of lasers and has developed expertise in performing even the most advanced laser procedures, using the most advanced laser technology. "Ongoing laser innovations make updated access critical in being able to offer the safest, most advanced procedures in our office", Dr. Wisser emphasizes. He is proud to offer some of the latest procedures in facial resurfacing, treatment of facial fine lines and wrinkles, acne scarring, irregular facial discoloration (melasma and rosacea), as well as upper chest, anterior neck and hand tightening and resurfacing procedures. Laser treatment of spider veins, various skin lesions and tattoos are additional treatments Dr. Wisser specializes in performing at the Rejuvenation Laser Center. Dr. Wisser believes that: "Understanding the nuances of laser use when treating patients is critical to maximizing laser treatment results while minimizing complication risks."

Dr. Wisser feels as though the field of cosmetic surgery has become overly complex due to the number of different practitioners offering cosmetic services. Dr. Wisser's philosophy is to simplify the process by listening carefully and focusing on each patient's area(s) of concern while offering the array of treatment options, ranging from those that are non-invasive (skin care and microdermabrasion), or those that are minimally invasive (such as use of BOTOX® and use of injectable fillers) to offering expert cosmetic surgical experience having performed numerous procedures involving all bodily areas including the face, i.e., brows, eyes, nose, ears, cheeks, jaw line, neck, as well as the breasts, abdomen, flanks, hips, buttocks, female genitalia, upper and lower limbs. A comprehensive list of procedures Dr. Wisser offers is available for your review on a separate web page.

Dr. Wisser has been nationally recognized and received achievement awards from the Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation and the American Association for Hand Surgery. He remains active as a volunteer in the medical community by providing his services to pediatric patients in the upper limb neuromuscular clinic at NYU/Hospital for Joint Diseases. Dr. Wisser remains an active member in several professional organizations, including the American Society for Plastic Surgery and the American College of Surgeons. In his free time, Dr. Wisser enjoys traveling, golf, tennis, writing, drawing and participating as an active member of the Iron Dukes and James B. Duke Society of Duke University.
