James A. Hoffman, M.D.

A native of White Bear Lake, Minnesota, Dr. Hoffman returned to the Twin Cities after practicing in Los Angeles, California. Dr. Hoffman is trained in all aspects of Plastic Surgery. His final two years of Plastic Surgery training were in Los Angeles where he acquired extensive experience with a wide range of cosmetic procedures. He also received advanced training in the treatment of children with birth defects. His current practice concentrates primarily on Cosmetic Surgery.

His areas of specialization include breast surgery (enlargement, reduction, and breast lift), body sculpting through liposuction and tummy tuck, surgery of the aging face, neck, and eyelids, and surgery of the nose. He also enjoys trips to South and Central America where he participates in the care of children in need.

"I feel fortunate to have an education that includes Harvard University, Vanderbilt University, University of Wisconsin, University of Minnesota and the University of Southern California. Perhaps the “best” thing to happen to my career are the two years spent in Los Angeles gaining advanced training in cosmetic plastic surgery.

I believe that a good surgeon never stops learning. Today’s plastic surgeon has a duty to stay up to date with techniques which improve patient results and speed recovery. Therefore, in addition to being a perpetual student of the art and science of plastic surgery, I am proud to have been a teacher at such prestigious institutions as the University of Minnesota, Loma Linda University, the Children’s Hospitals of Minneapolis and St. Paul, the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles and the University of Southern California.

I am a firm believer in educating the public about what constitutes excellence in terms of safety and results in plastic surgery."
