Qualifications

A Kansas native, Dr. Peterson is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science. He attended medical school at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He completed his prerequisite training in general surgery at Baylor College of Medicine and completed a residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. After several years of private practice in Otolaryngology, Dr. Peterson completed a residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City. Subsequently, he culminated his Plastic Surgery training with a fellowship in Craniofacial Surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. 

Dr. Peterson holds a license to practice medicine in Kansas, Wisconsin and Missouri. He is a member of the  American Board of Plastic Surgery and American Board of Otolaryngology. He is a member of the Kansas City Plastic Surgery Society, Kansas Medical Society and Shawnee County Medical Society. He serves as Director of the Topeka Cleft Lip and Palate Team and is a member of the American Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Association.

Dr. Peterson sees patients from all areas of Northeast Kansas, including Topeka, Junction City, Emporia, Manhattan, Lawrence and Kansas City.
