"In my opinion, one's self image should be the best that it can be. Expertly performed, plastic surgical procedures can significantly affect an individual's satisfaction with his or her body. It is important to feel as good as you look, and equally important to look as good as you feel. Making this possible is one of the most rewarding aspects of my profession."
- Jack A. Friedland, M.D.
At the initial consultation, Dr. Friedland will review the patient's past medical history, perform an appropriate physical examination and suggest a therapeutic plan for correction of problems. This takes into account the necessity for surgery and whether or not the patient is a good candidate for a particular procedure. Extensive educational materials (including instructional videos) are provided which discuss pre-operative and post-operative care and the surgical procedures being considered.
Dr. Friedland has been a frequent contributor, lecturer and participant in national and international Plastic Surgery symposia and conferences, and has visited several universities as a Traveling Professor, sponsored by national plastic surgery organizations.

The Consultation

Photographs of patients are taken for their medical records, where they remain confidential and are never shown to anyone, as the staff and Dr. Friedland completely respect the privacy of their patients. However, textbook diagrams and textbook "Before" and "After" photographs are available for review. Computer simulation is not used since it is felt that we cannot promise a result which might not be precisely the result achieved by surgery.
