Beverly Friedlander, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Using her more than 15 years of experience, Dr. Friedlander performs a variety of cosmetic and reconstructive procedures, but focuses on facial rejuvenation, body contouring and surgery of the breast. She has been quoted in local and national magazines, and newspapers as an expert in plastic surgery.

Dr. Friedlander grew up in Tennessee, but has resided in the Tri-State area for over three decades. She attended medical school at the State University of New York and completed a full general surgery training program in four years, rather than the usual five years. She continued with her plastic surgery training at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Montefiore Hospital in the Bronx before entering private practice in 1987. She is Board Certified in both general surgery and plastic surgery, although she limits her practice exclusively to plastic surgery. She has privileges at several local hospitals, including Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ, Saint Barnabas Hospital in Livingston, NJ, and the Ambulatory Care Center in Livingston, NJ.

Professional Societies and Leadership

Dr. Friedlander is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery as well as the prestigious American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. She is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the International College of Surgeons and has remained active in these and other medical societies at the state and regional levels.

Dr. Friedlander has been on the staff of Overlook Hospital since entering private practice. She was Chief of the Plastic Surgery Section from 1996-1999 and currently serves as the Vice Chairperson of the Department of Surgery at Overlook Hospital.

As one of only a small percentage of Board Certified plastic surgeons who are women, she is firmly committed to ensuring that all women have access to breast health care. She has been active in the American Cancer Society for many years working tirelessly in their Breast Outreach programs to ensure all underprivileged women and senior citizens have access to care and treatment. As a member of the Susan G. Komen Foundation speaker's bureau, she is a frequent speaker at both public and medical events and has been quoted in national and regional magazines as an expert in breast surgery.

Honors

Dr. Friedlander was paid the highest tribute by her colleagues when she was voted one of the "top doctors in the Metropolitan New York area" in successive years in the Castle Connelly Guide.
