"Tom and I are very active people. We’re both certified Scuba Divers, we hike and roller-blade, and ride our bicycles 40 miles each week. But, no matter how hard I exercised, I could never build the muscles in my calves and this really bothered me. Finally, I decided to do something about it – surgically. I called around and met several doctors who performed calf implant surgery. After much deliberation, I decided to go with Dr. Bunkis because I liked him the best. As it turned out, that was the best decision I could have ever made and it became the beginning of a friendship that has lasted almost ten years.
I say friendship because I truly do consider Dr. Bunkis to be my friend. My calf implant surgery was so successful that nobody would ever guess that they weren’t real muscles – even the masseuse at the gym! But it was when my breast implants ruptured (old ones that were implanted by another surgeon many years prior) that Dr. Bunkis displayed both the skill and artistry that define his reputation. The silicone had ruptured and migrated and Dr. Bunkis literally had to remove it, piece-by piece, without damaging any of the natural breast tissue. He replaced the ruptured implants with newer ones that have stayed soft and wonderful ever since.
Over the years, I have visited the office on several occasions, more recently for a facelift and eye tuck. My husband even had his eyelids done. We both feel that we look young for our age, which is great because we feel young for our age! Now the outside radiates what we both feel inside. I went for a job interview recently and was hired for a position that would generally be given to a much younger person. That was the best compliment I could have ever been given.
Dr. Bunkis is really an artist. I have always been comfortable about having surgery. I’ve never worried about the outcome because I have always known that he would do his best, because he is the best."
"When I first visited Dr. Bunkis twenty years ago, it was with the intent of having a breast augmentation, but I chickened out at the last minute. Don’t ask me why. I don’t know. I just did. Instead I told Dr. Bunkis it was my lips that concerned me, that I wanted them bigger. It was true actually. I really didn’t have much of a top lip. So Dr. Bunkis put collagen into my lips and I left that day with the most voluptuous smile! I also left with a smile in my heart. Dr. Bunkis could see how nervous I was about meeting with a plastic surgeon but he did his best to make me feel comfortable. His approach felt so honest that it was only a matter of weeks before
I plucked up the courage to go back for another consultation. This time for my dream surgery – breast augmentation.
My breast surgery turned out to be perfect. As well as the caring staff and high level of integrity that Dr. Bunkis held within the community, it was the personal and human approach I was given during my decision making process that made my surgical experience a pleasant one. I met with several patients who shared their personal stories with me. Meeting them reassured me that I was making the right decision for myself.
Since then, I have also had liposuction and my upper eyelids done. I’m no longer afraid of cosmetic surgery. In fact, since I first met Dr. Bunkis, I have referred over 150 people from my salon in Northern California to his office for consultation. He is such an excellent surgeon and an honest man. In my book, I couldn’t ask for anything more."
"I’m originally from Germany and it appears that in my family we all share the same family trait — bags under the eyes. I had them, so did my brother who lives in Berlin, and they made us look sad. Having cosmetic surgery to remove the bags became an easy decision for me. I trusted and liked Dr. Bunkis from the minute I met him. I knew he would do a great job and he did. In fact, it was so good that when my brother saw my pictures, he flew from Germany just to have surgery on his eyes as well. Now we both look happy – like we feel!
Over the past ten years, Dr. Bunkis has performed several other procedures for me. Everything he has done has provided me with a spiritual lift, as well as a surgical lift. I have had my breasts reduced and my tummy tucked, as well as facial cosmetic surgery including a facelift and forehead lift. Ten days after my facelift, I attended a wedding. I had no bruising, minimal swelling, and everybody thought I looked at least ten years younger. Some people even said I looked younger than the bride! But to me, having cosmetic surgery isn’t really about looking younger – it’s about looking the best that you can for your given age!
Now it’s my daughter’s turn to have surgery. After providing me with two grandchildren, her tummy isn’t quite what it was so I have recommended that Dr. Bunkis help her out with surgery as well. I can’t think of anybody else that I would trust to operate on my daughter! She is the most special thing in my life, but I know Dr. Bunkis will use his unique skills to ensure that she has the safest and most successful surgical outcome."
"I never got a chance to thank you for the help I recieved from you back in January of 1985. Gratitude for your work on my hand has been with me throughout the past years. During that night on January 20, 1985, fear raced through me at the thought of never again doing what I loved: playing football. I believe, through the grace of God, you and many others were put into my life to help me along. Since that time, I was able to go to college and graduate in secondary education. I played footbal for five years at BYU without any limitations in my left hand. I signed with the New York Giants and was released in 1990.
Today I am a teacher and football coach in Salt Lake City. I just wanted to say thank you and let you know I appreciate what you did for me. Thank God I don’t play the guitar, because I still have very limited dexterity. Other than that, my hand is in no way limiting. Thanks again."
