Lindsey Howard
Front office coordinator/insurance specialist
Our front office coordinator, Lindsey Howard is the first person you will likely talk to when you schedule an appointment or need assistance at our office. She has worked in the medical field since 2005 and helps keep our front office running smoothly.

Lindsey is also our insurance specialist. While cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance, procedures such as hand and breast reconstruction, as well as surgery for skin cancer and lesions may qualify for insurance benefits.

"I particularly enjoy assisting patients who need to be pre-certified by their insurance company," says Lindsey. "I can help patients determine the benefits their plan will pay for reconstructive surgery."

Lindsey will also prepare and submit the necessary documentation to the insurance company, and follow up to be sure patients get the reconstructive surgery benefits they're entitled to under their plan.

Marla Cook
Licensed Aesthetician
Our licensed aesthetician, Marla Cook, comes to SUBTLchanges® following a career where she traveled the world for a major airline. "I've had two passions in my life-travel and skin care," she explains.

Marla is dedicated to helping women and men improve their skin's condition on a cellular level. She particularly enjoys the relationships she develops over time with her clients. "My goal as an aesthetician is to contribute to the well-being of the whole person," she says.

Marla will evaluate your skin and customize a refreshing treatment regimen especially for you. "I believe in the science behind medical-grade skin care products such as Obagi Medical®," she explains. "These products, coupled with clinical skin care including facials and laser treatments, truly provide solutions for graceful aging."

Qualifications

Norman Rappaport, MD, FACS, is a cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgeon who has practiced in the Texas Medical Center since 1980. He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Rappaport is known for his meticulous attention to detail and natural-looking results. He performs facial cosmetic surgery, cosmetic and reconstructive breast surgery and body contouring-including liposuction and tummy tucks as well as body contouring for massive weight loss patients. He also excels in non-surgical treatments including BOTOX Cosmetic and injectable facial fillers such as JUVEDERM and Radiesse.

"People today are becoming more accepting of the 'self-indulgence' of plastic surgery," says Dr. Rappaport. "Women and men who want to look as good as they feel now have the opportunity."

Patients appreciate Dr. Rappaport's thorough approach and the way he fully explains their individual treatment options. He takes as much time as each patient needs to answer questions, address specific issues, devise and implement a personalized plan, and give each patient an improved appearance that brings out his or her best features.

Dr. Rappaport has been voted one of the Best Doctors in America by Woodward/White, one of America's Top Physicians by SDL Industries, Inc., a Texas Super Doctor by Texas Monthly, and one of Houston's Top Docs for Women by H Magazine.

His extensive clinical background includes advanced training in craniofacial surgery at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and Sick Children's Hospital in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He also completed a hand surgery fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Rappaport completed his plastic surgery residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, and general surgery training at Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington, Pa. He earned his medical degree from Hahnemann Medical College in Philadelphia.

Prior to his medical training, Dr. Rappaport earned a doctor of dental surgery (DDS) degree from Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia. That experience led to his interest in plastic surgery and children's deformities. As a volunteer surgeon on several overseas missions, Dr. Rappaport has performed cleft lip and palate surgery on children and adults.

In 1985, Dr. Rappaport established the Houston Center for Plastic Surgery. His offices in the heart of the Texas Medical Center have grown to include SUBTLchanges, a skin rejuvenation center to offer patients a continuum of clinical skin care. "If you're having facial plastic surgery, a good skin care regimen conditions your skin for a better surgical result," Dr. Rappaport explains.

"Once patients have improved their skin tone, many continue to use the products and services to maintain good skin condition," he says. "Some patients also use the skin care products and service to delay the need for cosmetic procedures."

Dr. Rappaport is affiliated with several Houston-area hospitals, including The Methodist Hospital, St. Luke's Hospital, University General Hospital, Texas Children's Hospital and Women's Hospital of Texas. He is a clinical associate professor of surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
