Office
For your convenience, our offices are located on the Southside and the Peninsula – with Saturday hours, too. You will find our atmosphere promotes patient comfort, confidence and satisfaction.

Our staff includes registered nurses, skin care coordinators and other surgical and office staff. These staff members work together to provide our patients with the highest quality care.
Meet Our Staff
Primary Physician
Martin J. Carney, M.D., F.A.C.S., has been providing high quality cosmetic surgery in Hampton Roads since 1986. He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, the only board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties to certify plastic surgeons. Dr. Carney lives in Virginia Beach with his wife, Nadia, and their four children. (more)
Skin Care Coordinator
Peggy O'Neill, LPN, has been a licensed practical nurse for more than 20 years with a specialty in the area of cosmetic dermatology for more than 15 years. Peggy's experience and knowledge of skin rejuvenation enables her to provide the most current specialized treatments available including laser procedures. She is an active member of the Society of Plastic Surgical Skin Care Specialists and is located in our Virginia Beach office.
Skin Care Coordinator
Johnna Young holds a masters degree has more than 15 years experience in the skin care field. Her experience includes extensive clinical training from many of the leading medically based skin care lines such as BioMedic, Obagi, SkinCeuticals and Physician's Choice. Johnna also has an extensive knowledge of make-up artistry and promotes the clinically based line of Bare Essentials make-up. Johnna is the Skin Care Coordinator in our Newport News office.
Skin Care Coordinator
Lisa Childress joined our office in October 2005 to address our incredibly growing demand for skincare services. Prior to joining us, Lisa worked at Sentara Bayside Hospital as a Registered Nurse on the Intensive Care Unit for two and a half years. Lisa earned her Bachelor's of Science degree in nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University. She also has extensive experience in the skincare field, performing procedures such as micro-peels, microdermabrasion and dermaplaning. Lisa joins The Carney Center team members Peggy O'Neill, Maryann Jacobson, and Johnna Young on the Peninsula who, together, provide the best in skin rejuvenating services.
Certified Electrologist
Maryann Jacobson, Certified Electrologist, has been a specialist in the hair removal field for more than 20 years. Maryann has helped expand our hair removal services by utilizing the noninvasive Epilight and Alma Harmony systems to effectively treat patients with a variety of skin and hair types.
