Tomorrow I will be leaving to attend Boston College, but before I did, I wanted to write you this letter to say thank you for making my visits to your office pleasant ones.

Recently, I was in your office for which you removed an extra nipple (forgive me for not knowing the scientific name) I had on my breast. I had always wanted to get it removed but never told anyone about it until this summer. Soon after I found out what it was exactly, I was referred to you for its removal. I was eager to get rid of the extra nipple, but at the same time, dreaded the awkwardness and embarrassment that I believed would accompany the procedure. For something that remained so personal and private for so many years, I could only imagine the surgery being incredibly uncomfortable and somewhat humiliating for me. In contrast, Dr. Beam, you were so kind to me, making me feel very relaxed and comfortable throughout the procedure.
