Qualifications

Plastic Surgeon in San Francisco Gabriel M. Kind graduated with honors from Dartmouth College, and received his medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago. As a medical student he participated in both clinical and microsurgical plastic surgery research projects. He then was fully trained in General Surgery at Rush Presbyterian St.Luke's Medical Center. He was a contributing author to the first edition of The Rush Review of Surgery. Dr. Kind returned to Northwestern University - McGaw Medical Center for a three-year residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. After completing his plastic surgical training, Dr. Kind was awarded a one-year fellowship in Hand and Microsurgery at the Davies Medical Center (now part of California-Pacific Medical Center) in San Francisco.

Plastic Surgeon in San Francisco Dr. Kind was Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery, by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, and received a Certificate of Added Qualification in Surgery of the Hand from the American Board of Surgery.

Plastic Surgeon in San Francisco Dr. Kind is a member of several local and national medical organizations, has presented at national and international meetings, and has published scientific articles on a wide variety of Plastic Surgery topics. Dr. Kind has had a long interest in microsurgical breast reconstruction, and was among the first surgeons to perform the DIEP flap for breast reconstruction on the West Coast. At the 2010 meeting of the American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery Dr. Kind was invited to participate in a panel presentation on "Optimizing Efficacy in Microsurgical Breast Reconstruction". Dr. Kind has been featured in several articles in the lay press, has been interviewed for local radio and national television shows, and has appeared in two documentaries. Dr. Kind is an Assistant Clinical Professor, Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, at the University of California-San Francisco, and a Clinical Instructor, Department of Surgery (Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery), at Stanford School of Medicine, Stanford University Medical Center. Dr. Kind received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of California-San Francisco in 2001 for his contributions to the Resident's Cosmetic Clinic.
