Office

Upon arrival at our office in New York City or Long Island, Annie, our Front Desk Coordinator, will greet you. She will provide paperwork for you to complete in preparation of your folder. Your next greeting will be from Barbara or Ro, our Medical Assistants, who will escort you to the exam room. After your consultation with cosmetic surgeon Dr. Kisner, you will meet Mary Ann to review surgical information and fees. If you are interested in having cosmetic surgery, you will then meet one of our Operating Room Nurses, Cookie, Elizabeth, or Julie. They will discuss cosmetic surgery procedures and instructions.

Qualifications

Raised in Johannesburg, South Africa, Dr. Alan Kisner graduated from The University of the Witwatersrand and received his medical degree from the New York State Education Department. He then completed a general surgery residency and a plastic surgery residency at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York. Dr. Kisner has also worked with some of the top surgeons in the nation, including Mr. I. Jackson and Mr. Ian McGregor of Canniesburn Hospital in Glasgow, studying cranial and facial anomalies, cleft palate, and deformities of the hand.

A Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (F.R.C.S.) and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (F.A.C.S.), Dr. Alan Kisner is licensed by the District of Columbia and the state of New York, board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgeons, and a member of a number of reputable professional organizations. These include the Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, the American Medical Association, the New York Regional Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, the Nassau County Medical Society, the Suffolk County Medical Society, the American Cleft Lip and Palate Society, and the Aesthetic Society of America. In addition, he is an Honorary Member of the South African Plastic Surgery Society.

A private practitioner, Dr. Alan Kisner is on staff at some of the community's best hospitals, including Huntington Hospital in Huntington (where he is chief of plastic surgery), Stony Brook University Hospital in Stony Brook, and North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset. Plastic surgery patients come to Dr. Kisner from Manhattan and from other nearby New York communities.

A notable author, lecturer, and teacher, Dr. Kisner is an assistant professor of plastic surgery at Stony Brook University Hospital and has published articles on a wide array of topics, such as microdermabrasion and endoscopic surgery, in a number of well respected medical journals.

Dr. Kisner has also worked with some of the top surgeons in the nation, including Dr. I. Jackson and Dr. Ian McGregor of Canniesburn Hospital in Glasgow, studying cranial and facial anomalies, cleft palate, and deformities of the hand.

When not treating patients, Dr. Kisner enjoys spending time with his wife and two children.
