Meet Dr. Steven A. Belinkie

Dr. Belinkie practices both cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery. His emphasis is cosmetic surgery, specifically surgery of the breast and body. This includes not only breast enlargement and lifting, but reduction, and reconstruction as well. In addition, he has extensive experience in evaluating and revising patients who have previously undergone breast surgery elsewhere. He is experienced in the use of both silicone and saline implants.

Dr. Belinkie also performs many reconstructions for post-pregnancy breast and abdominal deformities, so-called, mommy make-overs. These procedures, sometimes combined, sometimes done separately, can go a long way toward restoring body contours and features which have been altered by pregnancy. These techniques are also useful in helping those patients who have undergone dramatic weight loss such as patients who have had bariatric surgery.

Dr. Belinkie obtained his Bachelor of Arts with honors at Wesleyan University. He then received his M.D. from New York University. As a medical student he received an award for outstanding achievement and was elected president of his class, and graduation speaker.

He then completed a full residency in general surgery at the University of Pennsylvania, and St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut. His plastic and reconstruction training was at the University of Pittsburgh. He has passed the Board Certification examination in both General Surgery and Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Belinkie is presently the Chief of Plastic Surgery at St. Francis Hospital, and a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.
