Qualifications

Dr. Phillip E. Dahan, M.D., C.M., F.A.C.S. was raised in the beautiful cosmopolitan city of Montreal, Canada. In 1985, he received his Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Physiology at McGill University in Montreal. Dr. Dahan continued at McGill University where he received his M.D., C.M. degree in 1989, trained in the General Surgery Residency program until 1993, and was amongst a select few to be accepted early into McGill's Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Residency Program which he completed in 1995. Dr. Dahan chose to train at McGill University because of its international reputation, state of the art facilities and ranking as the fifth best medical school in North America and tenth in the world by the Gorman Report. He received numerous honors, awards, and scholarships, and in 1995 became board certified in plastic surgery as well as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (F.R.C.S.). In 1996, Dr. Dahan traveled to Mexico City where he did a three month fellowship in Cosmetic Surgery and Pediatric Craniofacial Reconstruction with the world renowned plastic surgeon, Dr. Fernando Ortiz-Monasterio. He then completed a Hand and Microsurgery Fellowship in 1997 at the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Dr. Dahan moved to Reno, NV in the summer of 1997 where he joined a group practice with two other plastic surgeons. In 1999, Dr. Dahan became board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery making him the only plastic surgeon in Reno with two board certifications in plastic surgery. He subsequently became a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (F.A.C.S.). In January 2002, Dr. Dahan went into solo private practice and started Advanced Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, LTD. Recently in January 2008, his practice moved into its newly constructed 6000 square foot office with its on-site cosmetic surgery suite, laser and injection center, and Dr. Dahan's MediSpa.

Dr. Dahan holds full admitting privileges at the Renown Regional Medical Centers, Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center, and Northern Nevada Medical Center. He also has privileges at numerous outpatient surgery centers in Reno. Dr. Dahan is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, American College of Surgeons, Nevada State Medical Association, and the Washoe County Medical Society.

Dr. Dahan currently performs over 500 surgical procedures each year and specializes in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery of the breast, face, body, and extremities. Although the majority of his patients are from Nevada and California, Dr. Dahan's outstanding reputation as a world class plastic surgeon has allowed him to operate on patients coming from all over the USA, Canada, Latin America, Europe and even Asia. He is trained in many of the proven newer techniques and maintains his skills through continuing medical education. Dr. Dahan is well known for his expertise with minimal scar, minimally invasive and endoscopic procedures.
