Roxanne J. Guy, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Guy received her medical degree at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine where she held Chief Residency positions for both General Surgery (1981-82) and Plastic Surgery (1983-84), She has been board certified in both General Surgery and Plastic Surgery.

Over the years, Dr. Guy has published more than 50 papers, journals and abstracts. She has delivered more than 100 presentations and has appeared on dozens of television programs including Oprah Winfrey to educate the public and her peers on various topics in plastic surgery including breast reconstruction, facial reconstruction and cosmetic surgery.

In 1996 and 1997, Dr. Guy served as President of The Medical Staff and Chairman, Medical Staff Executive Committee, at Holmes Regional Medical Center. She has been Attending Plastic Surgeon at Holmes Regional Medical Center since 1984. Dr. Guy is also a member of the staff of Wuesthoff Melbourne Hospital, Palm Bay Community Hospital and HealthSouth Ambulatory Surgery Center.

Dr. Guy was named Southern Illinois University School of Medicine Alumnus of the Year for 2004 in recognition of her outstanding contributions to medicine and distinguished service to humankind. In addition, she has served in many medical capacities and board of directors including Medical Advisor, American Cancer Society; Section Chief of Plastic Surgery, Holmes Regional Medical Center; and Board of Directors, American Society of Plastic and Reconstruction Surgeons.

In October of 2004, Dr. Guy was named Vice President of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the largest organization of board-certified plastic surgeons in the world with approximately 6,000 members across the country. ASPS is recognized as the foremost authority on cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery. Dr. Guy took office at Plastic Surgery 2004, the society’s annual scientific meeting held in Philadelphia, PA.

Dr. Guy has Board Certification with the National Board of Medical Examiners, The American Board of Surgery, and The American Board of Plastic Surgery. She was listed in the 2002-2003 and 2004-2005 Guide to America’s Top Surgeons and has been an active member in 17 different medical associations.
