Dr. Mary Gingrass

Dr. Mary Gingrass is a third-generation plastic surgeon, born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She received her medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee in 1989. Dr. Gingrass completed her residency in general and plastic surgery at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. She completed her training with a fellowship at Nashville Plastic Surgery, with an emphasis in cosmetic surgery and breast enhancement surgery. Dr. Gingrass is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. She is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and in 2007 was inducted into the prestigious American Association of Plastic Surgeons. Locally, she is a member of the Nashville Academy of Medicine. Dr. Gingrass also serves on the board of the Tennessee Breast Cancer Coalition and has been active in legislative efforts concerning women’s health issues.

Dr. Mary Gingrass was one of the first plastic surgeons in the United States to use ultrasound-assisted liposuction (UAL) and has been active in teaching the technique to other plastic surgeons across the country. She has attained national recognition for her work in the field of body contouring and has spoken at prestigious plastic surgery symposia nationally and internationally. She has received the Certification of Advanced Education in Cosmetic Surgery from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Mary Gingrass is the past chief of the Department of Plastic Surgery at Baptist Hospital. She is a member of the medical staff at Baptist Plaza Surgicare Outpatient Surgery Center and Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. She has practiced plastic surgery in Nashville since 1995 and her practice is now dedicated to cosmetic surgery and breast reconstruction. Her husband, Dr. Christopher Stark, practices orthopedic surgery with The Bone and Joint Clinic of Franklin, Tennessee.

Dr. Melinda Haws

Dr. Melinda Haws is a plastic surgeon board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. She is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons as well as the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Haws received her medical degree from the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in 1991, where she met her future partner, Dr. Mary Gingrass. In her training, Dr. Haws completed a six-year combined general surgery/plastic surgery residency at Southern Illinois University in Springfield, Illinois. From there she came to Nashville for a six-month breast and aesthetic fellowship with Nashville Plastic Surgery. After working as an Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at the University of Nevada School of Medicine, Dr. Haws returned to Nashville in the spring of 2002 to join her best friend, Dr. Mary Gingrass, in practice and the Plastic Surgery Center of Nashville was born.

Dr. Melinda Haws has chosen to focus her practice on breast enhancement and body contouring, with special emphasis on women trying to “get their bodies back” after pregnancy or weight loss. She can help patients with concerns regarding changes due to aging of the face or body, in addition to taking care of those inherited figure problems. She has a growing number of male patients with complaints of gynecomastia, or “male breasts,” which can be corrected with a variety of procedures. Dr. Haws is also committed to providing breast reconstruction to those patients with breast cancer or congenital defects preventing breast development.

Dr. Haws is a member of the medical staff at Baptist Hospital. She performs the majority of her surgeries at Baptist Surgicare Outpatient Surgery.
