i still have my job. however, many co-workers including my manager lost their jobs yesterday. uggh! i loved my old manager!

so, i get a call today from my "new" manager who technically isn't in charge until jan 1st. anyhow, he is scheduling a conference call with the new team first thing monday morning and a mandatory lunch meeting on monday as well. i am on vacation all next week. so, i can definitely make the conference call but i am feeling obligated to attend the lunch as well. he scheduled it in fairfax, virginia which is 2 hours away.

i am so happy that i have my job but this is happening way too fast! my head is spinning. big changes are happening! eeeeks!

seriously! i haven't even had time to process what has just happened. i've got 3 weeks vacation between now and the end of the year. looks like i'll be learning my new product info as well. i was the district trainer in my old division and need to train the hospital/surgical division on our current products and learn and train all of my diagnostic imaging colleagues that are left on a new surgical agent. good grief!

New managers was never a good thing with me. Most come in like gang busters. Sounds like this one will be the same. Good luck!

Congrats on keeping you job. Since you will go to this lunch in fairfax. Why not make a day of it and do something in the area while you are there. Even if it's window shopping at tysons

Hopefully the new manager will have qualities you like or at least can grow to appreciate. As for lunch, if you go, be sure to do something for yourself while you are there and take a comp day come January :)

I am so glad you didn't lose your job in all of this. BUt it does sound like you got a new one in some regards. Best of luck as you endure the transition. Believe me I know how you feel!!
