Today’s advanced plastic surgery techniques can make significant improvements in your appearance and self-esteem. But choosing the right surgeon at the right time and having realistic expectations about the outcome are essential ingredients in the process of undergoing plastic surgery.

"What distinguishes our practice is the amount of personal attention given to each patient by every single member of our team. This is definitely not an “assembly-line” of cosmetic surgery. I do not think you will find another surgeon who will spend more time with you personally…before surgery at the consultation and pre-operative visits, during surgery with an obsessive attention to every detail, and following surgery as I guide you through the healing period. I am very much a perfectionist. I try to leave nothing to chance. I am absolutely obsessive about every detail during surgery and equally dedicated to the post-operative care of my patients.

“Nothing is spared when it comes to patient safety, comfort and satisfaction. We do not cut corners. We don’t rush through surgery. There are no shortcuts when it comes to something so important to another human being.”

- Robert M. Grenley, M.D.

In The Media

Dr. Grenley has been in private practice in Seattle since 1985. Dr. Robert Grenley knew early in life that he would be a physician. He loved to paint and sculpt because, as he says, “I’ve always loved working with my hands to make something beautiful.” And, he has also been just as interested in the geometric and mathematical principles of balance, harmony and symmetry. It was natural for cosmetic surgery to find him…a career perfectly in tune with Dr. Grenley’s talent and passions.

Initial and Follow-Up Consultations

When you meet Dr. Grenley, you will understand why so many patients return for additional procedures and recommend him to their friends. His warm, personable manner allows patients to ask their questions without feeling intimidated or rushed. Cosmetic surgery should never be taken lightly, nor should the process you go through to choose a surgeon.

Dr. Grenley will spend as much time as you need, explaining the procedures and answering your questions, discussing the benefits to you as well as any limitations and risks. At the end of the consultation you should feel that the discussion has been complete and your questions have been answered fully. You will never feel pressured to schedule surgery.

Additional follow-up consultations are encouraged and are complimentary. If you schedule surgery, you will be seen approximately three weeks prior to your procedure for a pre-operative visit. At that time the procedure is again discussed and all questions are answered. Pre-operative instructions are given, the medical history is reviewed and any prescriptions are written.

Our Facility

Most cosmetic surgery is performed in plastic surgeons’ offices in order to reduce the cost to patients. Surprisingly, however, there are currently no licensing regulations governing these facilities. It is our belief that cosmetic surgery should only be performed in an office facility if it can be done as safely as in a hospital setting.

For the safety of our patients, we have voluntarily built our surgery center to meet all requirements for the highest level of Washington State Certification. We go through ongoing certification and accreditation procedures similar to those of hospitals. This governs all aspects of care at our surgery center, including sterilization procedures, safety policies, operating room staffing, monitoring equipment, emergency medications and equipment.

Operating room personnel, physicians and nurses, are trained in Advanced Cardiac Life Support. All anesthesia for surgery is provided by board-certified physician anesthesiologists, the same group who provides all anesthesia care at Swedish Hospital. We believe that they are best qualified to provide for the safety and comfort of our patients.

We spare no effort or expense in providing for the safety of our patients.
