Body Contouring

Age, hormones, significant weight loss and multiple pregnancies can all contribute to sagging breasts. Though your breasts may be of good size, they may droop (ptosis) and lack firmness or substance. Breasts may appear pendulous and nipples may point downward below the breast crease. A breast lift will reshape sagging breasts to a more naturally rounded shape and repositions the breast and nipple to a more youthful height and projection. (Courtesy of Zoran Potparic, M.D.)

Breast Lift

For a woman, having firm and full breast adds beauty. However, as she ages, also does her breast. A woman's breast sags as time goes by. Age isn't the only factor why breasts sag, weight gain or loss, pregnancy and gravity all attribute to the sagging of the breasts. (Courtesy of Riverside Plastic Surgery Associates)

Breast Procedures

Mastopexy (or Breast Lift) reshapes the breasts and repositions the areolas. This procedure is usually performed on women who have been pregnant multiple times and breastfed their babies, or on bariatric surgery patients who have lost a significant amount of weight. In either case, the deflated look or excess skin in the breast area can be disconcerting to the individual, who may desire aesthetic improvement. (Courtesy of Michael S. Meininger, M.D.)

Breast Lift

The mastopexy procedure may be performed under either local anesthesia with intravenous sedation or general anesthesia. The operation takes about two hours, and patients return home the same day.During mastopexy, the surgeon repositions the nipple and areola to a higher position and removes excess skin from beneath the breast. Closing the remaining skin lifts the breast mound to a higher position and recontours the breast to give it a more projected and youthful appearance. (Courtesy of Coastal Plastic Surgery Institute)
