Jennifer's Story

Hi, my name is Jennifer and I recently had a Breast Augmentation. This is something that I thought about for many years and have spent the past 2 years researching. I have always had uneven breast and it was something that made me feel self conscious. In March of 2003, I went to a consultation with Dr. Ted Eisenberg and decided that the time was right for me to get the surgery done. I was shocked when the doctor measured me and told me that my right side was a 32 full A and the left side was a full B small C. I knew they were uneven but I didn’t know by such a difference. I guess I did a good job at hiding it.

After looking through many photos and asking all of my questions from the breastimplants411 website I was completely satisfied and comfortable with both my decision and my surgeon. Along with my surgeon I decided on left Mentor smooth, round, 375 cc right and 250 cc, through the crease incision. I scheduled my BA for March 19th so right away I got on the forum at BI411 and started getting information from the girls on the site. What to do, what not to do, advice on recovery, you name it I found it there.

On March 19th, I arrived at the hospital at 6 am for my 7:30 surgery. They staff was great made me comfortable and started my IV. The next thing I know my surgeon came in and took my before photos. After that I said bye to my Mom and Fiancé and was wheeled into surgery. I don’t really remember too much in that room aside from nurse telling me I won’t feel a thing and when I wake up I will have the beautiful boobs I’ve always wanted. About an hour and a half later I hear the nurse calling my name and telling me I was moving into recovery. Once there I slept while they monitored my vital signs and blood pressure. When asked how I felt with the pain I said I was at a 6 not too bad but it really did feel like someone was sitting on my chest. At 11:15 I was able to go to the discharge area and get changed and see my family again. My fiancé pulled the car around and by Noon we were on our way home.

I was wrapped in an ace bandage and a sports bra for the first 24 hours then after that I had to just wear the ace. Recovery wasn’t as bad as I expected, I didn’t really have an appetite so pudding, liquids, and soup suited me fine. The next day my doctor called to check up on me and see how I was feeling, I think he was surprised that I sounded so good. The following Tuesday I had my stitches out – OUCH!! I thought that was the worst part. The last one on each side was stubborn getting out. My doctor put tape over them to keep anything from getting in there if there was an open spot. I went for my 2 week visit on April 3rd and my doctor told me how well he thought I was doing. The left side has dropped nicely so far and I an still waiting for the right. He told me to be patient, it takes time for them to fully drop and settle. He showed me how to massage the implants, something I have to do 2 times a day the right side and 1 time for the left for the next few months.

I know I am only 4 weeks post op (April 16) but I do love the way they make me feel. Now when people are looking at me I feel that they really have something to notice not like before always worrying if anyone will know I was mismatched.

Before I go I just want to thank my wonderful family, Mom, Dad, and my 3 sisters and my wonderful fiancé for supporting me in my decision. I also want to thank the many girls on BI411 that have answered my questions and calmed my nerves both before and after my surgery. You girls have been the best friends to me and it is nice to know that there are girls out there willing to share their stories to help girls like me that don’t know where to start. I am also thankful for who ever started this forum – it has proven to be a very important part of my BA and a great place to talk to my new friends. I plan to continue to use this site post op not only for me but maybe I will be the girl someday who helps a newbie get started.
